How ordering works, how the portrait is made, and what happens after you buy.
Ordering
- Do I see the portrait before I pay?
- Yes. Upload a photo and you get a free preview of your pet's portrait right away. You only pay once you have seen it and chosen a format and size.
- How do I order a portrait?
- Upload one clear photo of your pet, look at the free preview, then pick canvas or framed canvas and a size. Checkout takes a US shipping address and a card, and we start production from there.
- Can I cancel or change my order?
- You can cancel within 1 hour of placing your order, before generation begins, by emailing support@petartprint.com. After that the order has gone into our pipeline and cannot be cancelled.
- How do I check where my order is?
- Use the order tracking page with your order number. Once the print ships we add a tracking number and carrier link to it.
The portrait itself
- Are the portraits AI-generated?
- Ours are. We generate the portrait from the photo you upload in a Renaissance oil-painting style, then review it by hand before we print it. It is a print, not a hand-painted original.
- Will it still look like my pet?
- Yes. The portrait is generated from your own photo, so your pet's coloring, markings and expression carry through. A clear, front-facing photo gives the closest likeness.
- What kind of photo works best?
- A clear, well-lit, front-facing photo with your pet's face fully visible. Avoid heavy shadows, blur, or a face that is partly cut off. A candid phone photo at your pet's eye level works well.
- Does it work for my pet's breed?
- Dogs and cats of any breed or mix. The portrait is generated from your own photo rather than from a breed template, so a corgi, a sphynx and a shelter mix of no fixed breed all work the same way.
Formats and sizes
- What formats and sizes are available?
- Gallery-wrapped canvas and framed canvas, both in 8 x 10, 12 x 16, 16 x 20 and 24 x 32 inches. Canvas runs from $49.99 to $149.99 and framed canvas from $79.99 to $219.99.
- Should I choose canvas or framed canvas?
- Canvas arrives gallery-wrapped with no glass and no glare, which suits contemporary rooms. Framed canvas adds a solid-wood frame in black, white or espresso for a more traditional look. The printed artwork is the same.
- Is the print ready to hang?
- Yes. Canvas comes wrapped around 1.5 inch gallery-depth stretcher bars, framed canvas comes in its frame, and hanging hardware is included with both. There is nothing extra to buy.
- What is the print made of?
- Premium cotton-blend canvas with archival pigment inks. Framed canvas is the same print finished in a solid wood frame.
Shipping and returns
- Where do you ship, and what does shipping cost?
- We ship to addresses in the United States only, and shipping within the US is free on every order.
- Can I return a portrait if I change my mind?
- No. Every portrait is generated and printed specifically for you, so we cannot accept returns or exchanges for change of mind.
- What if my print arrives damaged or misprinted?
- We will remake it at no charge, or refund you in full if you prefer. Email support@petartprint.com within 30 days of the delivery date with your order number and a clear photo of the problem.
